📅 Date Difference Calculator
Quick answer
The difference between two dates is found by counting the calendar days between them, taking leap years into account automatically. The same span can be expressed as years, months and days using calendar borrowing, or converted into weeks, hours and minutes. Including the end date adds one day, which is how most people count deadlines and durations.

Frequently asked questions
How many days are there between two dates?
It is the number of 24-hour calendar steps from the first date to the second. From 1 January to 1 February in a non-leap year is exactly 31 days, because January has 31 days.
What does "include end date" mean?
Normally the count measures the gap between the dates, so Monday to Tuesday is 1 day. Including the end date counts both boundary days, making Monday to Tuesday 2 days — useful for leave days, rentals and event durations.
Does this calculator handle leap years?
Yes. The calculation is based on real calendar dates, so 29 February is counted automatically whenever it falls inside the selected period.
