Frequently asked questions
Does rotating an image lose quality?
Rotating by 90°, 180° or 270° simply rearranges the pixels, and saving as PNG is completely lossless. JPEG re-encoding at high quality keeps any loss invisible.
What is the difference between rotate and flip?
Rotating turns the whole image like a steering wheel. Flipping mirrors it — horizontal flip makes left and right swap places, like looking in a mirror.
Why does my phone photo open sideways?
Phones store a rotation hint (EXIF orientation) instead of turning the pixels. Browsers apply that hint when displaying, and this tool bakes the rotation into the actual pixels when you download.
